THE CLAN ASSOCIATION
IN SCOTLAND
The Clan Cameron Association was formed in 1889 thanks to the endeavours
of a number of enthusiastic Camerons who valued the clan and its links
throughout the world. The original aims of the association were "the
reviving, conserving, and promoting of the interests, sentiments, and
associations of the Clan: the cultivation of social intercourse among
members: the encouragement of education: the collecting and preservation
of records and traditions relating to the History of the Clan, and any
other objects which the Association may from time to time determine". And
these are as relevant today as they were more than a hundred and twenty
years ago. Over the years the fortunes of the Association have waxed and
waned with the development of new Branches at home and abroad. Currently
this Association called Clan Cameron Association Scotland covers all the
UK and Europe. |
