CLAN CAMERON ASSOCIATION SCOTLAND
COUNCIL MEETING HELD AT THE DISCOVERY CENTRE, DUNDEE on SATURDAY 21st June 09
Council agreed:
1. That we should advertise the shields for sale
2. That the flags and bunting had been purchased
3. That Culloden was a great success. Col Charles had suggested that because of the distances we should go to the Cameron grave first and then to the marker stone. Duncan asked about making a CD of the music played at the lunch and marketing it. The council agreed that Charles Burnett should be approached for the after lunch slot at Culloden 2010. It was agreed to book the Cawdor Tavern and to prebook lunches.. The possibility of a Clans tent at a future event was discussed.
4. There was a discussion about membership and retention.
5. Alan reported on progress with regard to The Gathering and outlined the stalls and events which were planned.
6. Alan & Duncan reported on a supplier of merchandise for the summer events and showed samples. It was agreed to spend up to £500.00.
7.Alan would circulate duty rotas for the three days.
8. One marquee for all 4 CCAssociations. One table and 4 chairs. Blue flag on the pole. And a one panel presentation to be organised by Roddy and Bill. We had booked meeting room for 12.00 on the Saturday. Duty rota from Roddy.
9. Wedding gift for Donald Andrew and Sarah. It was agreed to spend about £150.00 on a carved bowl.
10. Financial Report: as at May 09 the balance was £2097.31. Alan advised that we faced considerable expenditure over the next few months.. A new treasurer would be required as Shona would stand down at the AGM.
11. The arrangements for the AGM were discussed and the need to look for new committee members.
Date of next Meeting: Saturday 24th October from 11.00 -12.30 in Ma Cameron’s Aberdeen.
